There's no simpler or more practical way to provide year-round protection for your car than a single carport. As an alternative to a wooden garage or carriage house, a carport is much less obtrusive which could be an important consideration if you need garaging in a conservation area or have a listed property.
A single carport measuring 10' x 18' (3.0m x 5.4m) will accommodate most vehicles but we do offer wider and deeper carports for larger vehicles, or you could consider a double bay wooden carport. Compared to a single wooden garage or single bay carriage house, a single carport for one car is open on all sides. Obviously that's great for access as there are no width restrictions for opening doors, however, we do offer the option to enclose one or more sides, but if you need fully enclosed, perhaps consider one of our carriage houses.
We offer just one range of carports which is our Chester range as it includes our characteristic curved bracing which is available in oak framing or pressure-treated softwood, giving a classic touch to an otherwise simple building. Premium Chester carports can be used as stand alone buildings, have the flexibility to have one two or three sides enclosed and can even be added on to another timber building such as stables or a workshops.
We use either 150mm x 150mm (6″ x 6″) oak support posts framing and attractive curved bracing or pressure treated softwood, depending upon the chosen specification.
