Beautiful Carriage House Entrance Ways

If you want to give your Carriage House a truly prestigious finish, we recommend adding oak framing with curved bracing to your structure. Available within our Chester Range, our oak framed entrances are pegged in a traditional way and supported on staddle stones. These traditional features that mimic age-old carpentry methods make for an eye-pleasing and incredibly strong building.

Extra Strength and Finishes

Oak framed entrances are perfect for all our multi-bay carriage houses. The additional strength offered allows you the choice of several optional extras unavailable within our Chart Range of carriage houses. Firstly, with the extra support provided, you can customise the pitch of your building roof or eaves height. Give yourself extra height for larger vehicles or specific storage needs.

With a more robust structure you can also add heavier roofing tiles like clay, slate of cedar shingles to your building. These more rustic looking roofing options can add a real finishing touch to your carriage house as it blends in seamlessly with surrounding buildings or the natural environment.

If you would like a complete external and internal finish to your carriage house, we also recommend shiplap panelling to the interior walls. Shiplap cladding can be added at your request for a complete and professional touch.

Create A Multi-Purpose Garage

The extra strength offered by oak frames also allows you to fit garage doors to all or individual bays within your carriage house design. Our superior morticed ledged and braced double doors can be fitted as an optional extra to any partition of your structure for more secure option.

For example, you could choose to fit double doors to a single bay in a three-bay, barn-hipped, carriage house design. That way you can create a secure area for tools or general storage, whilst still giving yourself easy access to your vehicles for quick entrance and exit.

Indeed, the custom nature of Chart Timber Buildings design and build process means you can incorporate any manner of purpose units within the same structure. Many customers have added a workshop, log store and garden office alongside. Our team of timber building designers and craftsmen are extremely experienced and can work with you for the perfect structure.
