Chart Garages’ many years experience in the design and construction of timber buildings means we are perfectly placed to advise or compliment your ideas on bespoke wooden garages.

Whatever your wooden garage requirements, our aim is to help. Throughout the design process one of our experienced designers will discuss your needs and establish the most suitable solution. We will design and construct your garage to unique specifications, ensuring your new garage reflects your own design.

Over the years we have built many bespoke designs, with endless variations on both significant and subtle features. Below is just a small list of features that you can customise on your garage followed by a gallery of existing buildings we have made in the past with details of their own individual touches.

White Stained Carriage House/Workshop

Our popular standard dimensions for wooden garages start at 18′ x 10′ and go up to 48′ x 24′. Standard widths available are 10ft, 12ft, 14ft, 16ft, 18ft, 20ft and 24ft and can be combined with any lengths of 18ft, 24ft, 30ft, 36ft, 42ft or 48ft. These popular dimensions come with a standard eaves height of 2.1m (7ft).

Whilst these dimensions are our standard available measurements, if there is something more specific that you would like, we can work with you. Indeed, many customers have designed original dimension garages with us that suit a specific purpose, with some parts of the same building differing in width and height.

Multi-Purpose Design

You don’t need to use your wooden garage solely for storing cars and general bits and bobs. Many of our customers have created multi-purpose buildings that also incorporate partitions for specific uses.

A popular choice is to create a carriage house/garage hybrid building that includes multiple car bays and a separate secure garage unit incorporated. This secure unit can then be used for general storage or as a separate workshop.

Other customers have converted parts of the design into a garden office or sound proofed music room. With a Chart wooden garage you have complete flexibility. Whatever your ideas and use of purpose, we’ll work with you to make it happen.

Garage Doors

We offer a full range of garage doors and external casement doors for you to incorporate into your design. Garage-type doors include standard hinged doors or up-and-over style designs fit for purpose. For additional access doors, you can choose from a selection of softwood or hardwood doors, in Georgian style, panelled or glazed design.

Our external casement doors are all available with multi-point security locking. They fit seamlessly as both secondary garage entries or on a workshop or office unit.

Garage Windows

You can compliment your garage with a range of window styles. A single glazed window is fitted as standard to every 3.6m (12′) section of garage but you can easily upgrade to include as many windows as you like and in any of the styles we have available.

Single glazed models are available in Georgian or casement styles and as opening or fixed options. Vent and casement style windows are available as double glazed designs available in a wide range of different measurements.

Wood Finishes

You can finish your wooden garage with a choice of wood finishes that each add their own aesthetic quality. Choose from Shiplap, Weatherboard or Loglap.

Shiplap – a smooth planed, rebated board that finishes with a grooved effect. Weatherboard – a sawn tapered aesthetic that overlaps in a traditional style. Loglap – a planed rebated board that achieves a log cabin effect from the outside.

Roof Finishes

You can choose from up to six different types of roof finish for your wooden garage including Onduline, Felt/Felt tiles, Onduvilla, Clay/Slate Tiles, Tapco Slate and Cedar Shingles. The flexibility of choice lets you opt for a design that blends in seamlessly with surrounding buildings or the natural environment.

The bespoke nature of our buildings means you can create something truly unique. Featured below is a selection of designs we have created for customers in the past with a description of their features – anything is possible.
