Pressure Treated Timber
All internal and external timber used in the building is pressure-treated for longevity (excluding roof purlins) using the Tanalith E™. This is specialist preservative impregnated into the wood before construction that helps avoid fungal decay, wood rot and insect attack.
Clipper Workshops are made from a pressure treated 75mm x 50mm (3″ x 2″) timber framing, 100mm x 50mm (4″ x 2″) roof purlins and diagonal bracing at corner sections for solid strength and durability.
A single personal door measuring 838mm wide x 1981mm high (2′ 9″ x 6′ 6″) is fitted as standard to every Workshop. Framed, ledged and braced, faced with Shiplap, lined with an eco-breather membrane between the timber framing and exterior cladding and fitted with a five levered mortice door lock. Its fitted into a pressure treated door frame and we offer you the choice whether it opens inwards or outwards.
One 980mm x 662mm (39” x 26”) single glazed window (one opening and one fixed Pane) or one clear roof sheet is included in buildings up to and including 3.6m (12’) in length. Two windows are fitted as standard in longer Workshops. Alternative single glazed or double glazed windows are available.
A wall breather membrane is placed between the stud-work and exterior cladding for added insulation and damp protection.
Guttering & Down Pipe
All Workshops come with guttering and down-pipes fitted to both sides as standard – helping with the drainage of rainwater.
Floors are constructed using 75mm x 50mm (3” x 2”) framing, spaced at 300mm (12”) centres and covered with 18mm OS Board.
Onduline Roof & Boarding
All Workshop roofs are boarded with 11mm OS Board as an underlining for black Onduline, as standard.
